It's a battle of the bands Halloween style with the winning band taking home the coveted Golden Cowbell plus $800! KEXP's Troy Nelson will be the MC for the evening with fellow KEXP'ers DJ Atticus and the legendary Kevin Cole as judges for the evening (plus one more TBA). Vinnie Guidera & The Dead Birds are an indie rock trio from Sacramento, CA. What started as a solo acoustic project evolved into a more dynamic, textured sound with that same acoustic guitar run through a fuzzed out halfstack. Their most recent album, Afterimage, has been compared to acts like Dinosaur Jr. due to its “deliberately forged grooves” and “spacious, brain-twisting instrumentals” (Aaron Davis, Sacramento Bee).
